N Dearborn St., Chicago, IL 60601 (Hybrid Eligible)POSITION SUMMARY:The Marketing Assistant supports many of the operations within the Marketing department. The ideal candidate will be personable, engaging and have excellent time management skills. This entry-level position is excellent for someone interested in gaining marketing experience ranging from traditional and digital media, data analysis and working with a large budget.RESPONSIBILITIES:Collaborate with members of the marketing and graphic design teams to ensure the timely delivery of all advertisements and marketing materials, including managing the turnover of building posters, the banners in front of the theater, and digital marketing slides in the lobby.Proofread digital copy, make updates to the website using WordPress, assist with email marketing through the Wordfly mail client and provide support for social media as needed. In addition, flag/respond when appropriate to customer service questions and comments received in the digital space.Track expenses within the annual budget and assist during the annual budget reconciliation alongside the Director of Advertising and Director of Marketing.Assist the Director of Audience Development with the cultivation, outreach and execution of items in support of our accessible and enhanced services.Assist in recruiting College Ambassadors and promote College Nights to university students.Alongside the marketing team, compile data related to both traditional and digital marketing efforts to understand ROI, trends and more.Ensure Goodman Theatre’s listings are updated on partner sites (Choose Chicago, Chambers of Commerce, etc.).Fulfill any partner organization requests for mutual marketing support including email swaps and reciprocal social media posts.Provide additional support as needed, including assistance in staffing and executing events.QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:Minimum of 1 year of professional marketing or administrative experience preferredExcellent writing, communication and project managing skillsFamiliarity with Tessitura (or other CRM database) preferredFacility with Excel requiredSelf-starter and ability to work in fast moving environment necessaryMust be creative, flexible, open-minded, enjoy working as part of a team and experimenting with ideasOccasional evening and weekend as needed to staff and execute eventsModel behavior and values consistent with Goodman’s Community Agreements and furthering Goodman’s IDEAA (inclusion, diversity, equity, anti-racism and access) goals.BACKGROUND:Chicago’s theater since 1925, Goodman Theatre is a not-for-profit arts and community organization in the heart of the Loop, distinguished by the excellence and scope of its artistic programming and community engagement.
