The Lovett School, an independent K-12 day school in Atlanta, GA, seeks applications for instructors of all instruments on an ongoing basis. Interested applicants should be able to teach all levels of music students, as well as those who are seeking to continue to play at the collegiate level. Experience teaching Grade 9 through Grade 12 musicians will be preferred, as will experience with younger students.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:Teaches specific instruction on instrument of expertiseCarries out all responsibilities associated with teaching in the Lovett Conservatory of MusicCollaborates with the appropriate ensemble directors (Lower, Middle, and Upper School) to ensure that lessons support the curriculumParticipates in department, faculty, team, and grade-level meetings as calledEnsures that students adhere to The Lovett School behavioral guidelinesFulfills additional duties as assignedPosition Requirements:Bachelor of Music Degree or Professional Experience, Master of Music preferredSignificant professional playing experienceThe flexibility to accommodate The Lovett School’s rotating schedule during the school day, and/or availability to teach before or after regular school hours, as well as possess the resources to teach virtually.Excellent written and oral communication skills to facilitate effective communication with students, parents, colleagues, and supervisorsEmployment of a variety of techniques, including the meaningful use of technology, to engage students and further their critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativityPHYSICAL DEMANDS:NOTE: The Lovett School employment process includes a post-offer drug (hair) test and background check. Many buildings do include multiple flights of stairs that will need to be navigated when walking with students.
