Alchemy GTS are seeking an experienced and driven manager of Fine Art appraisals. We are working together with an established organisation in the arts and collections industry. So as to support the Sales division, this role works together with the Director of Appraisals and oversees a team of skilled appraisers and art advisors. While a candidate who is based in New Jersey would be a perfect fit for this role, remote employment could be considered for the right applicant.

Role and Responsibilities

Oversees the appraisal review procedure to ensure effectiveness and quality assurance.

Arranges and monitors appraisers for in-person or remote appraisals.

Interacts with clients on routine questions, appointments, and evaluations.

Acts as a point of contact for all clients involved in appraisals, including significant international relationships.

Evaluates the needs of the client, schedules appointments, sends proposals, and gets payment.

Collaborates with the administrative group to effectively finish projects.

Gets in touch with client referral sources after referring clients.

Verifies appraisal appointments and provides the sales team with project status updates.

Completes and verifies the last invoice for the accounting department and clients.

Provide feedback to appraisers and improve appraisal processes.

Keeps the client database up to date and maintained.

Manages the Quarterly, Annual, Weekly, and Monthly Reports.

Requirements

Experience in cataloguing, valuation, and quality control.

Bachelor's Degree in Art History or a related field (Master's Degree preferred).

Minimum of 3 years managing full-time and part-time staff.

USPAP Certification.

Extensive knowledge of appraisal guidelines, industry standards, and market trends.

At least five years of experience in Art Appraisal, Advisory, or Auction industry.

Experience in cataloguing, valuation, and quality control.

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build effective relationships.

Capable of engaging a strategic mindset can enhance business operations.

Financial analysis skills to enhance revenue and manage expenses.

Ability to develop and motivate support staff.
