Alchemy Global Talent Solutions is seeking a Fine Art Appraisals Manager with experience and motivation. We are working with a reputable company in the Arts and Collections industry. This role oversees a team of skilled appraisers and art advisors and works together with the Director of Appraisals to support the Sales division. While the East Coast is the best place for this position, the right candidate may be considered for a remote position.
Role and Responsibilities
Serves as a point of contact for all clients—including those with significant international relationships—participating in appraisals.Assesses the client's needs, makes appointments, submits proposals, and collects payment.Organises and oversees appraisers for remote or in-person appraisals.Works in tandem with the administrative team to efficiently complete tasks.Communicates with clients regarding regular inquiries, scheduling, and assessments.After referring clients, contacts the sources of the referrals, confirms appointments for appraisals, and updates the sales team on project status.Completes and confirms the most recent invoice for the clients and accounting department.Maintains and updates the client database.Oversees the monthly, weekly, annual, and quarterly reports, as well as the appraisal review process to guarantee its efficacy and quality control.Provides feedback to appraisers to enhance the appraisal process.Requirements
A bachelor's degree, preferably a master's degree, in art history or a related field.USPAP Accreditation.Five years or more of experience in the auction, advisory, or appraisal of art.Three years at least in full- and part-time employee management, with expertise in quality assurance, valuation, and cataloguing.Strong interpersonal abilities and capacity for forming successful bonds.Adopting a strategic mindset to enhance business operations.Proficiency in financial analysis to optimize revenue and control expenses.The capacity to inspire and develop support personnel.Extensive familiarity with market trends, industry norms, and appraisal guidelines.
