It is emerging in the new economy with strengths in high technology, manufacturing, bioscience research, and advanced business services.The City Clerk Department is seeking a dedicated professional to join their team as a Graphic Designer- City Clerk.The Graphic Designer - City Clerk creates and modifies a high volume of print and electronic media, such as flyers, books, reports, manuals, newsletters, bills, notices, tickets, pamphlets, ballots, maps, calendars, Web pages, advertisements, and numerous other means of disseminating information in support of City of Phoenix programs.This position works with internal print production staff and/or outside vendors to define specifications and oversee the quality of final print products resulting from designs; uses computer graphics and photo editing software to implement design and layout copy; implements and trains other designers on design concepts, including City standards for use of logos, fonts, and layouts; and operates a digital color printer, computer-to-plate equipment, and other desktop output devices.The Essential Functions Of This Position IncludeDesigning and preparing covers, reports, posters, brochures, special maps, displays, and related materials;Creating logos based on customer's request, concept, and ideas;Overseeing development of promotional brochures and implementation of promotional campaigns;Making artist conceptions of projects using various types of media;Editing images using various graphics software;Using computer graphics and photo editing software to prepare comprehensive layouts and various forms of media;Designing and updating internet web pages utilizing SharePoint;Maintaining regular and reliable attendance and;Demonstrating superior seamless customer service, integrity, and commitment to innovation, efficiency, and fiscally responsible activity.IDEAL CANDIDATECreative thinking skills.Ability to make artistic layouts independently, under general supervision.Ability to communicate orally with customers, clients, and the public in face-to-face, one-on-one settings or via phone call.Ability to provide a portfolio of work including a wide range of creative projects.Ability to work cooperatively with other City employees.Great communication skills verbally, written, and within visual projects.Excellent eye for detail and catching typographical errors.SALARYPay Range: $26.18 - $44.57 per hour.Hiring Range: $26.18 - $38.68 per hour.Pay Range ExplanationPay range is the entire compensation range for the position classification.Hiring range is an estimate of where you can receive an offer.
