The Skipper’s Public Address (PA) Announcer is responsible for creating an exciting and engaging collegiate game day experience for players, fans, and officials and relaying announcements and pertinent information during games/events. The PA Announcer will keep fans informed with game information as well as communicate various scripted messaging.RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible for vocally delivering lineups and substitutions, sponsorship endorsements, pregame introductions, safety messaging, scoring decisions, etc.Work collaboratively with the SC4 Athletic Department to create an exciting and engaging collegiate game day experience for players, fans, and officials.Display a positive and professional demeanor while representing the SC4 Skippers.May be asked to work non-Skippers Athletic Contests such as SC4 Athletic Hall of Fame, Middle School Events, SC4 High School Volleyball Showcase, The SC4 High School Basketball Showcase and MHSAA tournament games.Assists with other athletics department activities as needed (i.e., monitor the walking track, distribute game programs, fan engagement, sideline assistance, laundry/folding towels, game day prep, equipment storage, etc.)Assists with other athletics game-day activities as needed (i.e. scorebook, libero tracker, scoreboard, shot clock, music, video, ticketing, statistics, etc.)Perform other duties as assigned.SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

This position reports to the Athletic Facilities and Operations ManagerEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma required. Experience working public announcing preferred. Experience with the public providing excellent customer service. Ability to work mornings, evenings and/or weekends. Must have the ability to work the majority of SC4 Skippers Home Events and the NJCAA Women’s DII Basketball Championship.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Knowledge of the event/game/sport, and its rulesAbility to access event/game details to determine the appropriate time for announcementsExcellent speaking voice (ability to project and annunciate while reading announcements in a timely fashion).Must be able to observe and react to events on the field/court to accurately relay information to fans.Abide by College policies and procedures
