This program consists of both virtual and in-person mentoring, professional development and a 10-year career path.Job Description:This individual will assist in the design and coordination of fire protection systems for various facilities. The candidate will design and create the finished representation for wet and dry sprinkler systems using drawing and drafting skills and tools. Drawings produced will be used as a guide by every other link in the chain of construction, both on-site and in the office. Responsible for initial planning of a project including scheduling of time, creating material stock lists, analyzing changes, and solving problemsLearn how to design various dry and wet fire protection systems following required codesAssist with field surveys of existing buildings and systemsLearn and use design software for 2-D & 3-D drawingsAssist with system calculationsWork with key customers and our design/build team to prepare conceptual drawings and estimatesProduce shop drawings and as-built drawingsAssist with system and equipment selectionAssemble system specifications and O&M ManualsCommunicate with field personnel to ensure information flowSpecific Requirements:AutoCAD experience preferredConstantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery (copier/printer, etc.)Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% or more of the timeOpen cube office work environment, noise level – quiet to moderateQualifications/Skills:Good planning and problem-solving skillsAble to understand big picture issuesGood communication, written, verbal, interpersonal, and analytical skillsProfessional and detail oriented.
