The University of New Mexico (UNM) Global Education Office(GEO) is excited to announce an opening for a Marketing & Outreach Rep. Thisindividual will collaborate with all the GEO sub-units and the broaderuniversity communications and marketing community to promote the UNM brandinternationally, and lead outreach efforts for educational stakeholders andprospective students abroad. The position will develop, support, and coordinatecontent published on GEO websites and social media, support outreach communications,and analyze social media data to inform our digital outreach strategy. Musthave the ability to multi-task and be comfortable working in a fast-paced,multi-functional service unit. Thisposition qualifies for all the standard UNM benefits, including annual and sickleave, health insurance, tuition remission, a robust pension plan and more!Additional benefit information is available at https://hr.unm.edu/benefits.Duties and Responsibilities:Update and maintain existing websites using content management system. Ensure GEO sites and online features (calendars, forms, etc.) perform as expected and content is up to date.Take designs and bring them to life. Design skills will be complemented with ability to develop digital content and signage using open-source tools, languages, libraries, databases, and current standards-compliant code and/or software.Demonstrated ability to launch and manage a variety of digital systems such as customer relationship management platforms, video hosting services (YouTube, Vimeo, etc.), social networking sites (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, WeChat, WhatsApp), and other data gathering systems.Implement university brand and regulatory standards, with particular emphasis on ensuring appropriate practices regarding protected information and sensitive data.Write/edit/revise communication materials and original body content for final publication.Create digital and print materials for outreach to educational partners abroad and prospective students, such as news releases, email campaigns and quarterly newsletter.Assist with development and writing of comprehensive narrative reports for campus leadership and GEO Senior Staff, such as quarterly newsletter, GEO Annual Report and other cyclical communication.Provide guidance and leadership on development of a strategic social media plan; work closely with GEO staff to ensure proper content and online messaging is relevant to organizational goals.Lead Global Education Office MarCom group and serve as GEO liaison for other campus level marketing groups, such as UNM Marketing & Communication Council.Manage online discussions in a timely manner and craft responses to blogs, posts on social media sites, and online news outlets.Build strong relationships with UCAM and members of local/state/international media by providing constant, relevant, and newsworthy information on the social media sites.May lead and/or guide and mentor student employees.If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Knowledge of marketing media and funding sources.Ability to plan, organize and coordinate media activities and special events.Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.Ability to use independent judgment and to manage and impart information to a range of clientele and/or media sources.Knowledge of communication principles, media, and marketing techniques.Knowledge of marketing strategies, processes, and available resources.Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.PreferredQualifications:Demonstrated experience using the Adobe Creative Suite.Prior work experience in graphics, layout, scripting, programming, and development.Demonstrated ability to create social media posts/campaigns and other marketing materials as evidenced through a portfolio.Professional and/or technical writing experience, with a thorough mastery of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling.Must be customer-service oriented, with a professional, can-do attitude, as this position supports all sub-units within GEO.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.Experience working with diverse populations and with globally-oriented web material.Ability to communicate professionally in a second language.Demonstrated understanding of information security best practices and familiarity with FERPA and GDPR requirements.Additional Requirements
