TOPS Products is looking for a User Experience (UX) Designer to join our innovative tax software team in a hybrid role based in St. Louis, MO. In this role, you will be integral to designing user-centered solutions that simplify and enhance the tax preparation process for our diverse clientele. As a UX Designer, your responsibilities include consulting with clients to understand their needs, designing intuitive prototypes and wireframes, and conducting user interviews to gather insightful feedback. Your goal will be to transform complex tax software requirements into seamless, user-friendly interfaces that improve user satisfaction and engagement.Working closely with our engineering team and product managers, you will ensure that designs are feasible and align with both technical constraints and business objectives. You will present design concepts to stakeholders, effectively communicate design choices, and refine these based on feedback. Your expertise will also extend to maintaining design documentation and continuously advancing our UX strategies to stay ahead of industry standards. This position is ideal for a creative problem-solver with a strong portfolio in UX design, looking to impact the future of tax software through innovative design solutions.Location

St. Louis, MO (Hybrid)Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with clients to gather and understand their needs, translating complex tax software requirements into user-friendly designs.Design and iterate on prototypes and wireframes, focusing on usability, to optimize the end-user experience.Conduct user interviews and usability testing to gather feedback and refine designs accordingly.Work closely with the engineering team and product managers to ensure designs are implementable and aligned with technical constraints and business objectives.Present design concepts and deliverables to stakeholders, effectively communicating design choices and gathering feedback.Create and maintain design documentation, including user flows, process flows, and site maps.Utilize current UX design best practices and technology trends to enhance the overall user experience.Continuously improve UX design strategies and processes, staying ahead of industry standards to keep our products competitive.Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field. (Equivalent industry experience in place of a degree also accepted)5+ years of experience in UX design, preferably within the software development industry, tax software experience is a plus.Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe XD, Sketch, Figma, and others.Strong portfolio demonstrating a deep understanding of user-centered design processes and methodologies.Proven ability to manage multiple design requests in a timely fashion, with competing priorities and deadlines.Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proven track record of working effectively with cross-functional teams.Experience in conducting user research and translating insights into design decisions.Ability to effectively articulate and justify design decisions to stakeholders and team members.Preferred Qualifications

Experience with responsive web design and mobile app design.Advanced certification in UX design, Interaction Design, or a related field.
