GEICO is looking for an accomplished, customer obsessed, and results oriented Lead AI UX/UI Designer. The ideal candidate will bring experience designing user experiences and UII that leverage generative AI platforms. They will be comfortable collaborating with business owners, engineers, data scientists and product management to lead design programs across research, requirements, user workflows, interface design and usability studies.As a Lead AI UX/UI designer you will be accountable for designing solutions that responsibly incorporate generative AI into user experiences and address the goals of our business. You will be leading and mentoring other designers and working directly with product management to align priorities and engineering backlogs. You will be responsible for understanding the emerging AI landscape and the opportunities to advance the practice of UX and UI design. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary design and research team that values people, human-centered design and a growth mindset.This position is a hybrid role that requires to be on-site 3 days a week at one of the following locations: Chevy Chase, MD; Washington, DC; Chicago, IL; Fredericksburg/Richmond, VAResponsibilities:Collaborates with product, engineering, and business teams to uncover customer and business needsTranslates complex ideas into understandable concepts and solutions that evolve and enhance the product experienceUnderstands and navigates the emerging fields of ML, AI and Generative AI to establish scalable frameworks that advance the practice of UX and UI designAdvocates for a responsible and ethical approach to AI in our product and services.Manage through shifting priorities to provide clear direction and input on product prioritization and support early product definitionAdvocates for the customer through human-centered design methods, including discovery, research, and user testingFacilitates and participates in workshops with internal and external stakeholders to align with business needsCreates process and user flows, wireframes, journey maps, and user interface specificationsDelivers design assets for acceptance, development, and delivery to market in partnership with engineeringTeaches, mentors and guides designersBasic Qualifications8+ years of experience with User Experience design3+ years of experience with agentic, virtual agent or similar productsPreferred QualificationsExperience designing for cross channel e.g. responsive web and native mobile interfacesExperience working collaboratively with AI/ML and Data Science teamsExperience working with multi modal Generative AI platformsDemonstrate ability to work across design processes e.g. user research, user experience design, UI design and specificationsExperience leading project teams of multiple designers within agile development environmentsSolid knowledge of ML, AI and Generative AI systems and capabilities.Ability to collaborate with Product Management, Engineering and Operations teams.Effective communication and storytelling skillsAbility to work autonomously with minimal directionProficiency with design tools (i.e., Figma) to deliver concepts and enable successful collaboration across teamsFamiliarity with working in an established design system within agile development teamsAt this time, GEICO will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.Benefits:Premier Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with no waiting period**Paid Vacation, Sick and Parental Leave401(k) PlanTuition ReimbursementPaid Training and Licensures*Benefits may be different by location.
