Activities strengthen and support the region’s knowledge of and engagement in air quality and transportation projects/programs/policies. All submittals should include a cover letter summarizing work experience, as well as a current resume.Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:Assisting with the development of Transportation Department publications and communication materials, including drafting, designing, and distributing newsletters, reports, presentations, and brochuresWorking with Transportation Department staff to design and publish materials and assisting with the development and implementation of a consistent look to department educational materialsAssisting with efforts to incorporate innovation into community outreach initiativesServing as a Transportation Department representative by attending committee and public meetings, events, seminars, workshops, and conferences to obtain relevant informationAssisting the Transportation Department public information officer with media-related activities such as external media requests and press releasesConducting and distributing to staff a daily search of transportation-related newsSupporting the maintenance of Web pages by gathering and organizing information for display on the NCTCOG Web site and working with staff to ensure appropriate and current information is availableRequired Skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook; working knowledge of PublisherGood verbal and written communication skillsDetail oriented, highly organized, and creative, with an ability to manage multiple assignments/tasks and work well in a deadline-driven environment without diminishing quality of workAbility to work independently and in a team environmentRequired Education and ExperienceWork requires broad knowledge in a general professional or technical field, which is normally acquired through four years of college resulting in a Bachelor’s degree. Relevant fields of study include public relations, communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field of study.One year or less of job-related experienceStarting Salary RangeMinimum of $45,736.00 - $54,883.20 annuallyThe North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) is a voluntary association of, by and for local governments, and was established to assist local governments in planning for common needs, cooperating for mutual benefit, and coordinating for sound regional development.
