Subscribe to job posting notifications to be automatically alerted of the latest career opportunities by clicking on the Notify Me button.Responsible for the day-to-day communications function of the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center.CHAIN COMMANDAnswers to the Supervisor of Radio Operations.CRITICAL RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIESAnswers emergency and non-emergency telephone callsObtains and enters information on calls for serviceDispatches, maintains contact and communicates with field unitsUses the mapping systemProvides necessary information when requested, to include:Enters information into computer systemsPerforms GCIC operationsPerforms multiple types of CAD entriesPerforms other related duties, as neededKNOWLEDGE OR SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITIONKnowledge of the geography and roads of the countyKnowledge of law enforcement and communications center proceduresSkills in oral and written communicationSkills in public relationsSkills in computer operationsMusts be able to compose and perform multi-tasks in a timely mannerMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:• High school diploma or equivalent• Must pass all drug screenings• Holds current GCIC certification or able to attain• Holds Georgia POST Communications Officer certification or able to attain
