Sr.
Mechanical Designer to join our Product Development and Engineering Group. Daily activities will include supporting engineers to detail 3D models and create 2D drawings and documentation packages for complex underwater assemblies used in world-class fountains.Responsibilities:UseSolidWorks, to design and detail various sheet metal, spun, machined parts and assemblies, wire harnesses and cablingWill also be involved in the detailing and dimensioning of injection molded partsRevises existing products to meet new requirements or to make improvementsDesigns and Creates drawings and other support documentsSome drafting work is also involved including making drawings for fabrication and support documentation for catalogs and web pagesAssist engineers in conducting statistical tolerance stack ups to determine critical dimensionsWork with documentation control to load BOMs and drawings into QuickBooksSupport the creation and processing of engineering releases and change ordersKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Basic understanding of mechanical principals and the structural capabilities of stainless steelFamiliarity with metal fabrication processes (cutting, forming, welding)Knowledge of drafting standards, tolerances, weld callouts and BOM’sKnowledge of and ability to apply ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing StandardsKnowledge of and ability to apply ASME Y14 Drawing Standards for formatting and layout of engineering drawingsKnowledge and experience interpreting and applying ANSI/AWS A2.4-79 welding callouts on engineering drawingsExperience working with QuickBooks on data importation and construction of Bills of MaterialsRequirements:9+ years of experience with Computer Aided Design and Drafting7+ years of SolidWorks experienceWET is an Equal Opportunity Employer; employment with WET is governed on the basis of merit, competence and qualifications and will not be influenced in any manner by race, color, religion, gender, national origin/ethnicity, veteran status, disability status, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, mental or physical disability or any other legally protected status.
