Product Designer

to improve the end-to-end design and user-experience of our core products. Your role will primarily focus on ZeroTier Central, the website that serves as the control panel our customers use to create and manage their networks, but may also include the ZeroTier client agents, billing, and analytics tools.Together with your team, you’ll collaborate with the go-to-market and engineering teams to design clean and intuitive user interfaces that reduce friction, simplify complex tasks, and drive engagement with our product.Our team is distributed across the US and EU, and we use modern practices and tools to support asynchronous remote collaboration. Every team member at ZeroTier is expected to work independently and leverage shared issue tracking, documentation, and automated testing to contribute to our shared base of reliable, well-defined libraries and APIs.Preference for this role will be shown to qualified candidates in the United States and in particular ZeroTier’s operating hub in Portland, Oregon. Develop the visual and interaction design guidelines for our core SaaS application, desktop, and mobile clientsWork closely with our product and engineering team to define and visualize new features, and iterate on existing onesCollaborate with external brand designers, web team, and marketing to ensure a consistent end to end look and feel company-wideLeverage customer feedback, product analytics, and your deep understanding of UI design to improve the usability and polish of our productsApply your knowledge of best practices around accessibility and localization to help expand and support our global user baseBuild design wireframes, assets, and “clickable” prototypes to guide our engineering team’s work on product UIEXPERIENCE

Demonstrated expertise in UI and interaction design for enterprise SaaS products, particularly those serving highly-technical usersAbility to tell stories with data, using data visualization and interactive query patterns to help users find actionable knowledge in large datasetsCuriosity and a willingness to learn about advanced topics in security, networking, and cloud environments, and apply that knowledge to product designExperience collecting direct feedback on product usage, including interviews and product analytics, and using that knowledge to inform UI improvements and feature definitionQUALIFICATIONS

5+ years experience working independently and on small, fast-moving teams to define, build, and iterate on web/SaaS and native applicationsComfort working in a hybrid in-person and remote team, using the best channels and practices for different kinds of work (i.e., brainstorming, prototyping, and review)Familiarity with collaborative design applications such as Figma, Google Docs, and “low-code” interactive UI toolsAbility to document design practices and help the engineering and go-to-market teams apply them to their workWe encourage candidates from non-traditional backgrounds to apply, regardless of formal education, training, and certification.
