Retail Marketing Manager, PATTERN

PATTERN is seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Retail Marketing Manager. Reporting into the brand’s VP of Marketing, the Retail Marketing Manager will be responsible for driving sales opportunities, account management, channel development planning, and identifying methods to reach the brand’s goals. In this role, you will ensure efficient and effective retailer marketing is in place to grow and expand Tracee Ellis Ross’ hair care company. This role requires the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams to achieve results.

This is a full time, salaried position.

Salary Range: 90,000 – 110,000

Candidates MUST be based in the Los Angeles area.

Responsibilities

Lead visual merchandising to execute brand vision. Ensure merchandising is optimized for sales performance, is on-budget, is creatively consistent across regions, and aligned with the regional guidelines.Lead retail marketing planning and execution from strategy to execution, including merchandising strategies, promotional activities, new product launches and animations.Responsible for maintaining and updating relevant retail documents in Sharepoint.Manage external partnerships and programs e.g., Conscious Beauty, Bazaarvoice, Power Reviews, Ingredient Compliance, NIQ Label Insights, etc.Maintain a detailed product database that includes vendor product numbers, pricing, and distribution information, ensuring accuracy and accessibility across all retailers.Act as key marketing partner to Sales team, specialty retail partners, and key accounts.Develop and manage product sampling, and co-op strategies and budget.Manage CAPEX & contribute to monthly budget & accruals, pricing & merchandising.Oversee promotional feasibility framework that effectively captures program performance and produces actionable learnings and optimization opportunities.Manage and negotiate digital activations, in-store placements, animations, and additional strategic support with each retailer to build robust digital exposure and customer experiences.Manage all creative and merchandising requests/briefs to ensure timely development and optimal effectiveness of all marketing programs, visual merchandising, and collateral materials.Create and support retail educational & training assets (print, digital, video, livestream).Plan and build presentations for retailer Market Weeks and ongoing meetings, including and not limited to new product innovations, brand strategies and focuses, media, social and PR strategies.Identify areas of opportunity within each retail environment and tailor the PATTERN strategy to each retailer and market as necessary.Experience

5+ years of retail sales or retail marketing experience.Experience in Sales, Trade Marketing, Shopper Marketing, Retail buying or Category Management preferred.Experience calling on Ulta, Sephora or Target a plus.Data-driven project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Experience with IRI or syndicated data analysis preferred.Skills

Organized and detail-oriented.Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.An entrepreneurial spirit with high comfort level in an evolving, fast-paced environment & a willingness to roll up your sleeves to do whatever it takes to build the brand.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly and effectively communicate sales results to both sales and non-sales stakeholders.Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment with competing priorities and deadlines.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Capable of managing various projects simultaneously.Strong knowledge & passion for hair care or beauty industry & products. Experience in textured hair is a plus.Adept at staying ahead of trends & on top of emerging research/marketing/e-commerce technologies to gain competitive insights.Adept to handling a fast-paced work environment.Comfortable with handling sensitive information and applying discretion appropriately.Cross-departmental project management.About Pattern
