We continue to advance our policies and practices to foster a more progressive organization and industry.Here’s what you would be doing day-to-day:Conceptualize and manage earned media campaigns, leading proactive and reactive storytellingAct as news announcement consultant to teams and clients, advising on strategies and tacticsLean into your relationships with reporters to navigate the evolving newsroom landscape and drive coverage for clientsCounsel and prepare executives for interviewsDraft pitches, press releases, bylines, media plans and briefing materialsLead agency-wide media efforts, including brainstorms, reporter AMAs, and our monthly media tips newsletterSupport new business media research, auditing, and targetingCollaborate with specialty teams (digital, content, etc.) on integrated campaignsQualifications:3-6 years of media relations experience with technology companies in AI, software, cybersecurity, infrastructure and/or hardware industriesExcellent understanding of media temperatures and what makes a good story for clientsEstablished relationships with trade and business pressExperience working with clients directlyExpert level organizational, communications (written and verbal) and time management skillsProficiency with basic computer and PR tools including Cision, Meltwater, and MuckRackAbility to travel to and from in-person meetings as appropriateBonus points for any of the following:Established relationships with top-tier and broadcast pressExperience leveraging digital assets and channels to support earned media (e.g. influencers, infographics, social, etc.)Experience managing people or teamsWhat makes us Mission North?We’ve built an award-winning culture of curiosity and experimentation. Expected Salary range depending on experience: $100,000-$115,000, not including year end profit sharing bonus.
