Job DescriptionAccount Director, Marketing (Remote or Hybrid)B2B Tech Marketing | Method CommunicationsThe OpportunityThe Marketing Director at Method Communications is a critical senior role responsible for leading client relations, partnering with project management on client deliverables, and coordinating with agency teams to support the team’s overall success. You will maintain a clear view of all activities occurring across each account and act as quarterback for the team, ensuring everyone knows their role and deadlines.You will work with the team to develop and execute both large and small content marketing campaigns and projects. You possess a deep understanding of content marketing, digital marketing, and earned, owned, paid, and social media best practices and trends. You have experience managing integrated programs as an Account Manager/Director.You are the client’s daily contact and sparring partner; you excel at building strong client relationships and generating trust. You act as a marketing advisor, providing clients with solutions to their communication and marketing challenges. You ask thoughtful questions and provide well-researched insights to inform marketing strategy. As the main client liaison, your job is to partner with clients and translate their needs into strategic recommendations and deliverables for Method.You are skilled at managing budgets, helping others work within client scopes, and maintaining a level of detail on accounts that gives the client confidence. You can foresee both opportunities and challenges. You possess strong communication and presentation skills that allow you to effectively support clients and internal team members. You capture client feedback and help the team navigate changes thoughtfully. You are comfortable pushing back when client demands are unreasonable to protect the team and ensure success. You excel at time management and lead your own projects independently, end to end, to help your team successfully deliver theirs.The Marketing Account Director will report to the VP of Marketing and work as a partner to Account Leads (EVP, SVP, VP, and Directors). You will work collaboratively across all marketing functions, including creative teams, content teams, research, social, and digital marketing. As the Marketing Account Director, you will partner with Project Management to support accounts effectively, ensuring deadlines are met and projects are staffed efficiently.ResponsibilitiesAccount Management, Direction, and Execution:Manage and maintain client relationships, building trust and helping clients have confidence in the agency team and our ability to achieve their goals.Direct all projects and initiatives, while allowing team members to own and execute projects.Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills with an eye for detail.Maintain a positive attitude, and be a critical thinker and problem solver.Work with executive leads to develop realistic goals for internal team members and clients.Exhibit a strong executive presence when providing ideas, counsel, and feedback to clients and internal teams.Collaborate with account project managers to ensure content is delivered on time and support workstreams to deliver top-quality deliverables.Assign and delegate roles and responsibilities across internal teams to ensure successful outcomes.Develop and implement strategic plans to manage and grow accounts.Retain clients and build strong trusting relationships.Provide superior customer service and ensure client satisfaction.Leadership:Act as a mentor to junior staff.Participate in agency leadership discussions.Evangelize marketing within the agency.Deliver constructive feedback to ensure level requirements are met and the correct action is taken, where necessary.Participate in office activities (virtual and/or in-person dependent on location).Maintain a strong, positive presence within the agency.What We’re Looking For10+ years of Account Management experience with a minimum of 2 years in an agency environment.Demonstrated experience building, conceptualizing, and executing integrated communications programs that align with client/company business goals.Exemplary editing and writing capabilities.B2B experience is required; tech and/or enterprise experience is preferred.Collaborative, team-oriented individual with a big-picture mindset.Passion for work and commitment to developing skills and helping team members learn daily.What’s it like to work here?Relationships are paramount at Method, and we invest heavily in building and maintaining relationships with clients, journalists, and each other. Final compensation for this role will be determined by a number of factors including candidate’s education, relevant work experience, and geographic location.State of New York: $98,949 – $138,700New York City: $138,700 – $157,813State of California: $85,956 – $126,874San Francisco: $126,874 – $142,432State of Washington: $85,620 – $125,094Work ArrangementThe role can be performed fully remote in the United States or hybrid if near a hub office in San Francisco, Salt Lake City, or New York City.
