What You’ll Do

As the Copyeditor, you will:

Copyedit content for APhA’s magazines, Pharmacy Today and Student Pharmacist.Provide editorial services, including copyediting and proofreading, for colleagues in other APhA departments.Proofread APhA communications email and write social media posts for Pharmacy Today.Who We’re Looking For

Experience And Education Required

A bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, science, or communications (or commensurate experience) is required.A minimum of 3 years of editorial/proofreading experience is required.Skills, Knowledge, And Abilities Required

Excellent copyediting and communication skills.Excellent computer skills and proficiency in publishing software.Ability to work independently as well as in a team and adapt to editing for different audiences.Understanding or experience with medical or pharmacy terminology.Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-oriented environment.Preferred Skills, Knowledge, And Abilities

Familiarity with AMA style guidelines.Multimedia and social media skills.Familiarity with Adobe InCopy/InDesign.Experience in editing and/or writing in STEM fields and/or technical writing.LOCATION: Washington, DC – Hybrid, two days a week in the office (Tuesday & Thursday)
