Summary:

Foley Hoag seeks an IT Learning & User Experience Specialist to optimize the end user experience as it relates to the firm's technology portfolio. This person will actively engage the user community to solicit feedback on IT experiences, address business needs, communicate and conduct just-in-time training as needed. This role provides a hands-on hybrid training part of each employee's ongoing learning. The IT Learning & User Experience Specialist assists with firmwide roll outs, and service transition from projects.

Responsibilities:

Create, curate, and deliver training on the firm’s systems and software applications both current and planned, in a manner that is easy to understand and retain by a non-technical audience. This includes new hire training for all new employees in each of the firm’s offices, training sessions and presentations for new technology initiatives and just-in-time training when requested by end-users.Advocate for the end-user community by participating in each project phase (planning, design, testing, training, and follow-up).Work to understand how satisfied users are with deployed technology and help design enhancements to improve the experience.Identify training needs and design training materials to meet the needs of firm personnel, working closely with the Training Manager and IT Operations Director.Develop and publish weekly and monthly tips, tricks, and other communications to keep users up to date with all firm software, strategies, best practices, and alternative approaches to technology use.Review support tickets and recommend process improvements and changes, as needed, to improve service levels and operational efficiency.Maintain a mindset of continuous improvement, in terms of efficiency of support processes, customer satisfaction and application.Develop criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of training activities; continuously revise lesson plans to ensure course material reflects the training needs of our employees and of the firm.Develop and implement just-in-time learning – using, among other things, 2–4-minute video “how-to’s”, all-in-one collections of training materials for users, and training materials for mobile devices.Analyze support tickets and recommend process improvements and changes, as needed, to improve service levels and operational efficiency.Be a resource to the Support Desk for user assistance and questions.Provide hands-on, one-on-one and classroom computer training to new hires (attorneys and staff) for the firm’s supported programs; those programs include but are not limited to all Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; iManage; FoleyNET (firm’s Intranet); PSSHIP; Aderant for diary entry and narrative editing; and InterAction (CRM).Develop and educate all users on security policies, procedures, and best practices.Monitor the Support Desk ticketing system for issues and trends and develop action-plans to address identified training opportunities.Maintain new hire quick reference guides and workshop handouts.Prepare the Training Rooms for each class, ensuring that users are set up on the network with a login, all machines are in working order, the projector is adjusted, materials are distributed, exercises are prepared, and the room is orderly.Conduct train-the-trainer sessions for the Helpdesk for new training offerings.Work with Engineers to quality test software prior to deployment working with focus groups and manager.Other duties that may be assigned by the Training Manager.Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional experience.Minimum of 2 years of IT training experience within a professional environment; experience with training in a professional services organization (e.g., law firm) is a plus but not requiredAbility to collaborate and gain the respect, trust and confidence of the firm's attorneys and professional staffExperience with Instructional Design tools is a plus, e.g., Captivate, Brainshark, Articulate, Camtasia.Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office 2016/365 applications, including Word; Excel; PowerPoint; InterAction; Document Management system, e.g., NetDocs, iManage.Experience with Learning Management Systems e.g., Saba, ViLMS, University Site are a plus.Appreciation for Foley Hoag’s values and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusionAbility to respond with resourcefulness and initiative when anticipating and responding to user training needs.Ability to communicate clearly and professionally by telephone or email, in the classroom, and before large groups in the legal environment.Ability to troubleshoot and resolve application problems.Detail-oriented, well-organized, and able to work independently and successfully communicate with staff at all levels within the firm and with outside vendors.

Compensation range is $84,000 to $105,000 commensurate with related experience and qualification. The salary of the candidate selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to internal equity, experience, specialty, and training. The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the firm's reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
