Qurate Retail Group is the largest player in video commerce ("vCommerce"), which includes video-driven shopping across linear TV, ecommerce sites, digital streaming and social platforms.The OpportunityReporting to Director, Broadcast Engineering, the Manager, Broadcast System Integration will work with emerging broadcast technologies within an open and agile team atmosphere providing over-the-air live television broadcasting. You will maintain transmission systems including transmitters, antennas, transmission lines, satellite reception systems, video encoding systems, and Emergency Alert (EAS) systems. Also, you will perform RF engineering coverage and interference studies. Maintaining station parameters within FCC regulations will be an important part of this role. This role will be based in St. Petersburg, FL.

Your ImpactDispatch to Ventana transmitter sites to perform repairs, maintenance, new equipment installation, or system updates.Assist existing Ventana staff on transmitter site or other projects requiring multiple persons.Assist with monitoring & control of the remote transmitter sites, diagnosing and correcting problems discovered.Perform Longley-Rice coverage, interference, and zip code coverage studies.Other duties, either at remote transmitter sites or at HSN central location in St. Petersburg, FL.Over-the-air television broadcasting systems including antennas, transmitters, transmission lines, normal standards for tower crew operations and practices including OSHA requirementsSatellite reception techniques and customary practices for geostationary satellites including dishes, filters, LNBs, receivers, and coaxial cable interconnectionsVideo encoding and multiplexing systems as applicable to ATSC 1.0 digital video transmissionWorking knowledge of building environmental systems- Heating, Ventilation, & Air Conditioning (HVAC)Intermediate knowledge of electric power and distribution systems and electrical code requirements, including surge protection, grounding, and UPS implementationKnowledge of Windows-based computer systems including BIOS settings, serial and IP communications, and communications software such as TeraTerm or PuttyIntermediate understanding of computer networks including TCP/IP, subnets, LANs, WANs, switches, routers, modems, VPNs, and access techniques such as VNC and Remote DesktopWorking knowledge of electronic test equipment such as voltmeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, RF power meters, RF network analyzers, and time domain reflectometers (TDR)Beginner to advanced knowledge of RF propagation softwareKnowledge of ATSC 1.0 digital television transmission system very helpful, including modulation, linear & non-linear corrections, mask filters, peak to average ratios, frequency response, group delay, and parameter measurementsExperience with UHF and VHF antenna construction and directional antenna patterns is beneficial.

What You BringTrade or technical program degree in electronics or electronic technology, or equivalent professional experience.You will have 5+ years of experience in broadcast RF transmission systems.You will have 5+ years of experience in digital television broadcast RF systems.You will have experience leading and managing teams.You can comprehend and apply complex information.
