Major Responsibilities:

Create graphics packages for RIT Sports Network’s live broadcast sporting events, special events including off-season shows as well as in-venue video game day productions. This includes 3D animation, 2D live broadcast graphics, animated graphics packages, infographic and sports stats design and any other on campus related events. Develop, implement and deliver animated and still graphics packages for Division 1 and division 3 streaming broadcasts in conjunction with University Production Services engineering dept. and creative staff and student producers.

Manage and schedule an ongoing student employee and freelance employee roster. Train them in the RIT Sports Network live broadcast graphics Xpression systems throughout the athletic season and off-season. Strong organizational skills for file delivery and creative endeavors.

Develop innovative and impactful animated content for RIT Marketing and Communications content that adheres to RIT brand guidelines. This includes 3D and 2D animation, visual effects, and animated content provided for web design.

Create animated content for various RIT live events and internal functions and other marketing and communications divisional marketing needs.

Required Qualifications:

At least 3 years of related experience in producing motion graphic content for video, web, and broadcast television.

Experience with 2D and 3D design and animation, live broadcast animated graphics, and visual effects creation with various software and solutions.

Required Software Experience: Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator), Cinema 4d

Preferred Qualifications:

Specialized Software Experience: Ross Xpression (live broadcast graphics) HTML 5, Google Ad Maker, Xparticles for Cinema 4d, Cycles 4d rendering engine, ToonBoom

Job Summary:

The University Animation Motion graphics designer will create RIT brand-aligned animated content and deliver innovative and impactful live broadcast sports graphics, motion graphics for marketing campaigns and university live events, bringing the RIT brand to life. The Motion graphics designer will collaborate heavily with RIT Sports Network directors, student employees, and colleagues within the Division of Marketing and Communications and its campus partners to deliver a professional product from concept to completion. The Motion graphics designer is responsible for helping to create and implement innovative multimedia content for live events, video productions, RIT Sports Network, RIT’s web and social media environments, the RIT President, Provost, and Vice-Presidents’ offices as well as RIT Board of Trustees and academic colleges. They will also aid in the creation of HTML 5 banner ads for university marketing campaigns. The content created by the Motion Graphics Designer will be seen and engaged with across all of RIT’s marketing demographics nationwide. It will also be seen university-wide at campus events and sporting events. The University Animation motion graphics designer, in collaboration with the Assistant Director of University Animation, will be responsible for the management and scheduling of student employees as needed.
