POSITION SUMMARYThe Editorial Specialist uses invention, imagination, originality, and talent to develop, write, and edit all print and digital materials for First Baptist Atlanta. The Editorial Specialist will write personal stories in a journalistic style as well as marketing copy in a persuasive style. This position will proofread all content, both original and content provided by other staff team members. The Editorial Specialist will report to the Director of Marketing and Communications.

QUALIFICATIONS1. Must have a growing and mature personal relationship with Jesus Christ2. Must align with the beliefs, values, and mission of First Baptist Atlanta3. Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications, or related field4. Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in professional copy writing position5. Strong writing/editing/proofreading skills and an excellent portfolio6. Must be proficient with programs in the Microsoft Office and Adobe suite7. Must possess prioritizing and multitasking skills

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS1. Writes and edits materials for communications projects and ensures accuracy and completeness of the final product.2. Assures all content written by them, or provided by team members, is consistent with First Baptist Atlanta guidelines for readability, brand standards and grammatical correctness.3. Assists in researching and developing policy handbooks and manuals as needed4. Reviews and updates church website content for relevance5. Creates online and print cycles to keep content refreshed6. Defines publication standards and establishes goals and expectations7. Collaborates with team members to suggest stories and marketing strategies8. Writes scripts for promotional and testimonial videos9. Complies with media law and ethical guidelines10. Remains competent and current through self-directed professional reading, developing professional contacts with colleagues, and participating in ongoing training11. Whatever it takes#J-18808-Ljbffr
