We're looking for a creative director who loves pushing creative boundaries with out-of-the-box thinking, a strategic mindset, and a collaborative spirit to make awesome content with a talented team of industry professionals.

Sawhorse Productions is a full-service creative marketing agency creating multiplatform content for some of the biggest brands, artists, and film studios in the world, specializing in video production, post-production, social content, immersive experiences, and software development. We are a group of passionate producers, directors, editors, and designers looking to grow our team and make the best content possible.

The position will set the tone for the team internally, fostering an environment of respect and collaboration amongst our staff and freelance crew while delivering an excellent experience and product for our partners and clients.

This role will be client-facing, helping build our existing client relationships, win new business, and lead creative teams.

Our office is located in Los Angeles. You will have the option to work from our office and remotely depending on the schedule.

We are a remote-first business; however, occasionally this position will be required to work from the office to connect with the production team leading up to projects and on-set.

Creative Leadership:Lead the charge on creative concepting, presentations, and client communication.Help lead creative strategy for projects.Lead with creative curiosity to inspire new approaches and stay up to date with marketing trends.Lead RFP responses.Oversee multiple projects from start to finish, maintaining deadlines and the highest quality of work.Forward-thinking approach to anticipate client needs, maintain relationships, and foster new opportunities.Work closely with team members to align on creative goals and deliverables.Oversee development of creative pitches and deliver persuasive presentations of concepts and deliverables.

Creative Approach:Help establish creative look and feel for campaigns.Develop highly creative concepts built with audience insights, platform, and strategy in mind.Write and design unique and well-crafted copy that meets client/brand needs.Write and design pitch decks to communicate the creative in a clear and dynamic way.Pitch creative materials in a clear, engaging, and inspiring way.Reach for the big ideas and out-of-the-box thinking.Ideate with project scope and production logistics in mind.Passion to learn new trends, leverage new platforms, and find inventive ways to tell stories.

Requirements:Proven experience as a creative director.5+ years of agency experience.Proven track record of translating creative strategy, audience insights, and brand initiatives into creative concepts.Experience across broadcast, digital, social, and branded content - Web 3 activations (experiential, Metaverse, AI, AR) a plus.Passion for youth culture and advertising trends.Knowledge of social platforms and behavior.Hands-on experience in creative process, marketing, graphic design, and brand development.Strong grasp of translating audience insights and KPIs into creative concepts.Highly organized and detail-oriented.Good sense of comedy.Strong with Google Docs/slides, etc.Proficient in iOS, Mac computers, G-Suite, Slack.Outstanding leadership and organization skills.Must be located in Los Angeles.

Very nice-to-haves:Directing experience.Experience leading video shoots and working with AV and post-production teams.Production and post workflow experience.Knowledge of Web3.

This position is generally M-F 9:00 AM - 6:30 PM PST and will start with a freelance probation period of 90 days, and then move to full-time if everyone is aligned.
