Description:The North End Music & Performing Arts Center (NEMPAC) is seeking a college student or recent graduate to assistant teach our Junior Musical Theatre & Dance Summer Workshops at our North End Location. The assistant will help teach musical theatre and dance to students ages 4 - 6. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, willing to learn and grow, and is excellent at communication and collaboration.Workshop Dates:June 24 - 28August 12 - 16August 19 - 23Mon-Fri, 9a.m. - 4 p.m with a 30 minute lunch break.Compensation:
$15/hrThe teaching assistant will assist the lead morning theatre teacher and lead afternoon dance teacher with their curriculum, activities, choreography, etc. The week will culminate in a short “shareformance” for students to share their progress, process, and growth with their families!Responsibilities Include:Assist teach engaging lessons and activities throughout the day.Help manage a classroom of up to 16 students ages 4 - 6.Set up and clean up classroom space each week.Run warm-up, theatre and movement games and activities, arts & crafts, etc.Assist with transitions from one activity to the next, bathroom breaks, and other classroom needs as they arise.Qualifications:Skilled in music, theatre, or dance education.Comfortable working with students of ages 4 - 6.Preferably at least one year of teaching experience, particularly in classroom or camp settings.Exceptional communication and organizational skills.Working towards an undergraduate degree or recent graduate in music, theatre, dance, arts education or comparable degree.Enjoy working in a community music and performing arts school setting and embody NEMPAC's mission of making arts education accessible for ALL.How To Apply:Email resume and letter of interest to the Educational Programs Director at acarufel@nempacboston.org with “Summer Musical Theatre Teaching Assistant” in the subject line by February 22, 2024.Apply by:February 22, 2024Salary:$15 / Per hourAbout this Organization:NEMPAC MISSION:
