SUMMARY:The Instructional Designer is a key role for developing and delivering impactful learning solutions with a focus on technical content. Ideal candidates will have a technical background and experience in the Oil and Gas or Pipeline industries. This position involves managing projects through all stages, from design to implementation, and ensuring that the learning materials are both technically accurate and engaging. The role may also include coordination with Flex team resources as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Customer Experience:

Deliver high-quality service to clients by meeting requirements, exceeding expectations, and adhering to project schedules and budgets.Design and Development:

Create and develop technical learning materials and solutions, including digital and blended learning formats. Design curricula and learning journeys tailored to the Oil and Gas/Pipeline industries.Project Execution:

Manage assigned projects from start to finish, ensuring timely and successful delivery. Work closely with project managers and internal teams to meet project milestones.Collaboration:

Partner with technical subject matter experts (SMEs), art directors, and developers to create accurate and engaging learning experiences. Collaborate with Flex team resources when necessary.Client Interaction:

Engage with clients and stakeholders to define technical content, learning objectives, and project requirements. Provide updates and adjust deliverables based on client feedback.Design Documentation:

Develop clear and persuasive design documentation that reflects technical accuracy and relevance to industry needs.Evaluation and Improvement:

Analyze training outcomes and recommend adjustments to enhance the effectiveness of learning solutions based on feedback and evaluations.

SKILLS AND CAPABILITIESThe Instructional Designer should demonstrate:Technical expertise with experience in the Oil and Gas or Pipeline industries.Proficiency in the full instructional design lifecycle, including needs analysis, design, development, and evaluation.Experience with instructional design tools and technologies, such as SCORM, LMSs, and e-learning platforms.Strong understanding of adult learning principles and recent advancements in learning technologies.Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities.Excellent communication skills, with the capability to present and discuss technical content and design concepts clearly.

MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREDA degree in education, instructional design, or a related field with two years of experience in designing and developing technical learning materials.Or a degree in another relevant field with four years of experience in designing and developing technical learning materials.Or six years of experience in a similar role, with a strong focus on technical content and industry-specific knowledge.
