FGS Global serves its client base from 27 cities worldwide, including U.S. Offices in New York, Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago, San Francisco, South Florida, and Houston.FGS Global (FGS), a leading strategic communications consulting firm, is seeking a sharp and energetic communications professional to join the firm’s Strategic Communications Food and Agriculture practice. This position is based in our Washington, D.C. office and follows a hybrid schedule with an expectation of at least three days per week in the office.RESPONSIBILITIESServe as day-to-day coordinator on a diverse roster of client accounts and/or sub-projects within the food and agriculture practice.Leverage excellent media relationships and strong understanding of how to tell stories through earned and owned media channels.Interact with media and stakeholders on a regular basis, including time dedicated to relationship building and maintenance.Craft and deliver persuasive messaging, pitches, opinion pieces, ad copy, etc. that simplifies complex policy, legislative, regulatory, legal or other general issues. Strong writing abilities are critical to success in this position.Maintain expert knowledge of evolving issues that impact clients’ sectors as well as reporting trends.Manage multiple projects, including task and deadline tracking, for multiple clients from concept to completion.Work closely with Senior Associates, Associates, and interns, including reviewing and editing materials developed by junior staff.Demonstrate strong client-relations skills – responsive, professional, and helpful.Contribute to firm’s new business process and efforts.Work with other FGS divisions to deliver integrated services (including investor relations communications, government relations, advertising, and public opinion research).ATTRIBUTESStrong existing media relationships and ability to identify, cultivate, and regularly maintain key media contacts and outlets for a range of clients.Extremely strong writing and communications skills; familiarity with both traditional media style(s) and social media writing across platforms; ability to produce clear, concise materials within tight deadlines.Experience pitching stories to local and national news outlets and knowledge of what drives media coverage.Strong strategic thinker with understanding of how larger economic and public policy landscape impacts clients’ communications abilities and needs.Detail oriented and strong project management skills; preference for account coordination experience at a public relations agency.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.Ambition for sourcing and/or successfully leading efforts to obtain new business.A demonstrated capacity for leadership, communication and teamwork.A BA/BS degree in a related field and 5-9 years of relevant experience.In Washington, D.C., the base salary for this position at the time of this posting may range from $90,000—$125,000 USD.
