The person in this role will be responsible for social media, public relations, and writing and editing for the department.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSThe Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi reserves the right to change, amend, add, delete, and otherwise assign any and all duties, responsibilities, and position titles as it deems necessary to meet the needs of the government.Coordinates content for NHBP's monthly and quarterly publications, the

Turtle Press, NHBP blog, and public relations.Writes copy, proofreads, and ensures information for the *Turtle Press *and other publications and mediums is accurate.Assists in the coordination of NHBP's email messaging system.Performs the proof/edit of written content to be published by the department.Provides assistance in maintaining and providing copy/content for current communication outlets.Provides tracking for all public relations (PR) initiatives, including writing media releases and maintaining media contact lists.Responsible for attending Tribal events and activities and to document those events and activities including, but not limited to the following means: digital photographs, digital video, and interviews.Supports the Communications Director with advertising and community relations assignments.Develops and coordinates PR for the Native American Heritage Fund.Assists with emergency operations and preparedness planning as needed.
