As our Communications Specialist you will:Research and creatively write engaging content for internal and external audiences across various mediums: i.e. memos, newsletters, press releases, blogs, letters, speaking notes/script writingPlan, coordinate and execute social media content on the hospital’s social media platforms Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook, including MAHC staff professional recognitionParticipate in the design, production and distribution of event correspondence and promotional materialAssist in the development of outreach engagement to increase the visibility of the organizationWork as a liaison between Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare and the SMMH and HDMH Hospital Foundations to support essential communications related to donor and volunteer engagement and patient storiesServe as a backup webmaster for the hospital’s corporate website mahc.ca, including content creation and regular updatesParticipate in the development and implementation of internal and external communication and engagement plans, development of key messages and materials as per each plan’s objectivesWork with internal partners such as both hospital foundations and hospital auxiliaries to collaborate on joint initiativesREQUIRED EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION(S)Post-secondary education (degree or diploma) in the area of Public Relations, Communications, or JournalismREQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE(S)Minimum three (3) years related experience in a not-for-profit or healthcare-related sectorAdvanced computer skills and experience in word processing and presentation softwareExperience with website Content Management Systems (CMS)Demonstrated superior writing skills, with advanced grammar, punctuation, spelling, and editing abilitiesExcellent organization and prioritization skills to meet deadlines, prioritize work, and organize time effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environmentFamiliarity with digital devices (Apple/Samsung), Zoom, Microsoft Teams and SurveyMonkeyAdobe Design Suite experience an assetADDITIONAL PERKS AT MAHCStaff referral program (Earn up to $1000 for each successful permanent part-time and permanent full-time new hire you refer to MAHC)Extended health benefits (Permanent Full-Time only)Enrolment in the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP)Collaborative and supportive team environmentWHY IS MAHC RIGHT FOR YOU?Imagine working in a place you love to visit on vacation!
