Gene Juarez is seeking an individual interested in splitting their time between training and being behind the chair. This will include but is not limited to, facilitating training to Apprentices and/or Artists as needed, providing excellent guest service, leading by example, and upholding the Gene Juarez culture. For over 50 years, Gene Juarez Salons and Spas have brought industry leading services and products to communities in Western Washington. Gene Juarez has expanded to a new location in Downtown Bellingham and is building a team to expand our award-winning legacy. We're excited to bring this opportunity to you!
The individual in this role will:Learn and teach the GJ brand and techniquesBe a steward of the GJ culture and lead by exampleParticipate in training meetings (various locations including virtual and as far as the Seattle area)Facilitate apprentice/new artist training program at the Bellingham locationSpend time behind the chair providing services to guests on a regular basis

Compensation Information:
We estimate the annual earning potential of this role for a 40-hour work week is between $85,000 - $150,000 (inclusive of commissions, hourly pay, stipend, and tips).Initial time spent receiving training will be compensated on an hourly basis at $18.50/hr. Once training has been completed, compensation will transition to a hybrid model based on job duties.Time worked as a stylist will be compensated on a commission basis. The commission range for this position is 38%-49% commission on services provided.Time worked as a trainer will be compensated on an hourly basis. The hourly range for trainer work in this position is $29.40- $32.55.This position is eligible to receive tips, additional retail commissions, and an additional $100 weekly stipend while in the training role.
Additionally, this position offers a hiring bonus program paying $1,000-$2,500 for qualified full-time candidates. Part-time candidates are eligible for a prorated amount.
We are looking for those who offer:Active Washington State cosmetology or hair design license (instructor license is a bonus!)Expertise in hair services (2+ years of experience providing services in a high-end environment)Proven experience and ability to effectively train and communicate feedback to othersStrong leadership skillsAbility to commute to the Seattle area to attend training meetings and classes occasionally (subject to mileage reimbursement policy)Excellent customer service and desire to work behind the chair a few days a weekThe desire to continuously improve and educate themselves through CEP classesAn ability to tailor product recommendations to individual needsAssistance with salon operations when time allows, to maintain the flow of the guest experience
