Hospital SpecificMaintains utmost level of confidentiality at all times.Adheres to hospital policies and procedures.Demonstrates business practices and personal actions that are ethical and adhere to corporate compliance and integrity guidelines.Follows The Driscoll Way customer service standards set forth by the Hospital.Maintains annual education requirements.

Department SpecificServes as a resource for other departments.Maintains and follows specialty specific Code of Conduct set forth by licensing board.Responsible for professional supervision and continuing education to maintain state licensure.Travels to ambulatory clinics and the main hospital campus for education, and meetings as requested.Participates in Chart Audits for quality assurance.Participates in the review and revision of community resource lists.Participates in annual performance improvement activities of the department and assigned units.Participates in periodic review and revision of policy and procedures.Participates in budget planning.

Patient CareResponds to Physician orders and Nursing functional screening requests timely.Makes daily rounds in assigned unit(s), and/or oversees staff are adhering to practice.Upon suspicion/confirmation of abuse, neglect, or exploitation of a child, elderly, or disabled person - notifies appropriate agency (Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services and/or Law Enforcement agency).Plans, coordinates, and attends team and family conferences and actively participates as an advocate in the review and planning of patient care as needed.Demonstrates the ability to provide accurate and timely screening assessments for patients at all levels of functioning which reflects the whole person.Demonstrates the ability to create therapeutic goals as part of the multidisciplinary team appropriate for patients' medical, rehabilitative and/or palliative care.Demonstrates the ability to plan and deliver therapeutic treatment utilizing a variety of evidenced-based techniques.Completes necessary documentation in a clear, concise, and timely manner in such a way that meets documentation standards and includes goals understandable to anyone who reads them.Documents family involvement in planning and implementation of treatment plans.

Clinical ServicesIn addition to the above duties, will ensure clinical services are provide as appropriate.Maintains appropriate boundaries with patients and families.Develops music therapy treatment plan and establishes patient goals while maintaining the flexibility necessary to adapt changes based on the patient's emotional and/or physical limitations.Assess coping styles of patients and families to create therapeutic plan of care which incorporates needs, interests, and abilities.Prepares and conducts music therapy treatment sessions.

CommunityPlans and facilitates support groups for patients, parents, and families.Serves as a liaison and advocate with community programs and agencies related to therapeutic interventions/music therapy.Provides presentations and in-services to school personnel, students, and the community as requested.Works with staff from outside agencies to ensure quality care along the continuum.

Education / Experience:Master's degree required. Five years of Music Therapy experience preferred. Previous experience in health care preferred.

ANDSupervisory experience - a plus.Pediatric experience- preferred.Familiarity with formal supervision requirements- preferred.Bilingual skills (Spanish)- preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations.Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) required.Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) required.Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) required.Basic Life Support certification (BLS) required.
