EducationAssociate degree preferred

Experience / QualificationsCertification as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) through the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT).License in Respiratory Therapy preferredAmerican Heart Association BLS Certification for Health Care Providers.Requires recertification every 5 years by retesting. 10 BRPT approved continuing education credits (CECs) per year averaged over 5 years may be used for recertification in place of retesting.

Position Summary

The BRPT Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) will perform artifact-free polysomnography and other related diagnostic tests and data analysis under the general and direct supervision of the Sleep Center Manager.The RPSGT will assist with the orientation and training of new technologists and Certified Polysomnographic Technologists (CPSGT)May include PSG data analysis (scoring PSG), collection and compiling of QA data, and performing patient follow-up tasks.This position requires additional critical thinking skills to allow independent performance and supervision of other technical staff.Performs other duties as assigned.
