This is a hybrid role with 3 days working from our office in Deerfield, and 2 days working remotely.

We are looking to add an experienced communicator to Baxter's Medical Products and Therapies (MPT) Communications team to help build Baxter's reputation among key partners in the U.S. and around the world. With a product portfolio spanning home, clinic, hospital and operating room settings, this business segment represents one of the most exciting opportunities for customer-led innovation across Baxter, directly supporting the company's ability to deliver on our Mission to save and sustain lives, accelerate company growth, and enable a more connected and digitally-driven future for our customers and the patients they serve.

What you will be doing:

* Work alongside the MPT global business teams to tell our story in new, innovative ways through traditional and social media, speaking engagements, owned channels, and internal sites.* Support the successful execution of communications strategies to align with our business strategy, and have an established history of success of implementing projects from start to finish.* Support communications around new product launches and data publications, product and therapy promotion, issues management, patient advocacy campaigns, and thought leadership efforts.* Position Baxter's expertise in selected business units and how our innovation is reshaping and transforming healthcare.* Create and implement communications materials that promote our product innovations (launches, regulatory achievements, etc.), medical congresses, patient education and disease awareness campaigns, and product-related issues management.* Gain media placements and speaking opportunities in top tier and trade media.* Manage editorial calendars, internal communication activities and results benchmarking in support of segment communications activities.* Nurture and maintain strong working relationships to implement communications initiatives.

Communications Planning & Execution -Identify opportunities to expand the scope of communication initiatives and improve their impact, including: broadening our story by developing critical communications plans for all channels, including defining measurable targets.

Traditional, Social and Digital Media - Identify and successfully implement opportunities to proactively promote our business, innovation projects and broader leadership in key media outlets and speaking opportunities. Individual will be responsible for pitching and securing placements, responding to inquiries from journalists, and measuring impact of media activities across the business segment. Individual will develop press releases to promote key achievements and events, and work with the team to develop dynamic content for Baxter's social media channels and .com sites, in alignment with our overall content strategy.

Intranet Platform Management - Partner with team members to create, update, and maintain content on corporate intranet social media platforms to ensure effective internal communication and employee engagement.

Messaging/Materials Development - Develop integrated messages for internal and external audiences aligned to corporate, brand, product and therapy messaging. Understand Baxter's brand guidelines and support internal partner education and alignment. Create Q&A and media statements, among other materials, on a wide range of topics and issues, including research, drafting and editing.

What you'll bring

* Bachelor's degree required, preferably in English, marketing, journalism, public relations, advertising, communications or transferrable area.* 5 plus years experience in corporate communications or public relations. Pharma, med tech or healthcare industry and agency experience desired, but not required.* Demonstrated experience working with marketing teams and other business collaborators to identify priorities, and develop communications strategy to meet our goals, while demonstrating measurable impact of efforts.* Demonstrated success in developing ongoing relationships that result in strong media placements.* Strong and versatile writing skills for a variety of content types, channels and topics with experience disseminating complex topics into clear, concise content.* Experience creating and editing videos and graphics (e.g. Canva), drafting social media posts and understanding of organic and paid social campaigns desired.* Strong project management, time management and organizational skills.* Demonstrate a collaborative approach by working effectively with internal partners, fostering positive relationships within the communications team and across different functions.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary range for this position is $104,000 - $143,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
