Assessments may require visits to area hospitals, assisted living, retirement communities, other nursing homes, and/or the resident’s residence as needed.Maintain positive relations and ongoing communication with area health care providers and other referral sources.Work in conjunction with Director of Social Services and Social Service Staff to effectively utilize their support and assistance with admission process, tours, inquiries, room transfers, discharges, etc.Act as an advocate for the facility at all times. Assist Hooverwood Administration as appropriate to investigate and respond to legitimate complaints a resident, resident family or resident legal representative may have.Attend and provide input, direction, and feedback at various meetings as assigned by the Executive Director.Participate in the planning, budgeting and budget control of the Admissions & Marketing Department’s annual operating budget.Ensure all admission documents, medical records, and HIPAA policies are signed by the resident and/or resident responsible party.Seek assistance from Manager of Administrative Services to ensure all admission related documents are accurate and timely.Provide complete and accurate information to Receptionist for the completion of admission face sheets and daily census.Maintain admission related logs for Board Meeting, marketing, productivity, and utilization review purposes.Ensure new residents and family members are well introduced to their new environment.Promote community service and relations between the facility and community.Comply with all aspects of Hooverwood’s Corporate Compliance program and its Code of Conduct.Perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Social Services, Admissions or the Executive Director.Qualifications:Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Social Services, Marketing or a related field, from an accredited college or university.3-5 years experience in healthcare/long term care admissions and/or marketing.Physical or Mental Functions Required to Perform Job:

The Admissions Coordinator must function effectively under timelines and multiple demands; must be able to fully and effectively communicate orally and in writing; must be able to read normal print/script and computer generated type; must have the ability to hear effectively; must have full use of at least one arm and hand; must be ambulatory.Employee recognizes that the Admissions Coordinator could be at risk for exposure to blood borne pathogens and is provided the opportunity to receive a 3 shot HBV immunization series if he/she may wish, immediately upon receipt of the job description.
