Associate Director of Marketing & Communications, 30 hours per week (.75 FTE), 12 months, Exempt (Benefits Eligible)The Associate Director of Marketing is responsible for furthering the mission of Barnesville School of Arts & Sciences by planning, developing, and implementing marketing strategies, internal & external communications, and public relations activities. This position reports to the Director of Enrollment Management & Advancement and acts as an internal consultant to bring attention and solutions to School priorities. The Associate Director of Marketing & Communication works closely with the administrative leadership team to coordinate the strategic and tactical efforts of marketing, communications, and public relations, along with crisis management. The Associate Director of Marketing & Communications drives brand relevance, consistency, and engagement across all touchpoints, and oversees the development and implementation of support materials and pictures for staff, faculty, and administration.Duties and Responsibilities:Create, implement, and measure the success of a comprehensive marketing, communications, and public relations program that will enhance the School’s image and position among Independent schools and within the marketplace and the general public.Collaborate with the administrative leadership team, other staff, and volunteers to develop and maintain a strategic perspective in organizational direction, program and services, and decision making – based on marketplace and constituent needs and satisfaction.Propose short- and long-term objectives for marketing, communications, and public relations, and monitor progress, assure adherence, and evaluate outcomes.Coordinate the appearance of all School print and electronic materials such as letterhead, use of logo, brochures, etc. and oversee the editorial direction, design, production & distribution of publications, brochures, event programs, news articles, and Weekly Announcements/Newsletters.Work closely with the

Social Media & Website Specialist

to coordinate media interest in the School and ensure regular contact with target media and appropriate response to media and web requests and inquiries.Ensure articulation of the School’s desired image and position, assure consistent communication of image and position throughout the School, and assure communication of image and position to all constituencies, both internal and external.Maximize communication with the local community to increase visibility and growth opportunities.Align visual content with brand messaging, and serve as the School photographer to conceptualize, plan, and execute high-quality photo shoots and video recordings.Oversee and conduct relevant market research, monitoring trends.Keep informed of developments in the fields of marketing, communications and public relations, not-for-profit management, and Preschool/K-8 Independent schools.Assist with special projects, administrative tasks, and other team duties as assigned.We expect all employees to be fully engaged in the life and mission of the school, in and out of the classroom. The ability to lead or take part in enrichment classes, school committees, after school activities, athletic teams, and/or summer camp courses is desired.Education and Experience:4-year degree and 3 years of experience in marketing, communications, or public relations is required, with demonstrated success, preferably in the not-for-profit sector. The ideal candidate will be joyful, show initiative, and have demonstrated skills, knowledge, and experience in the design and execution of marketing, communications, and public relations activities.Skills and Characteristics:Strong commitment to equity, education, and BSAS mission, vision, and values.Enthusiasm for the mission of the school and for working collaboratively with faculty, staff, and administration.Communications skills of relationship building, managing expectations, and setting boundaries.Strong creative, strategic, analytical, and organizational skills.Demonstrated experience writing press releases, making presentations, and negotiating with media.Experience taking photographs, processing images with lighting, composition, and background.Experience overseeing the design and production of online and print materials and publications.Computer literacy in word processing, database management, and page layout.Ability to manage multiple projects at a time.Commitment to working with shared leadership and in cross-functional teams.Availability to assist with special events throughout the year including periodic early mornings, evenings, or weekends.Commitment to Diversity:

Daily desk work including computer time; mobility around a campus with uneven pavement and managing stairs; standing, bending, and squatting as required to participate in classroom activities; shifting furniture as needed, lift/carry boxes up to 15 pounds; the ability to maneuver as necessary within a classroom setting; frequent walking inside and outside as part of general job duties and responding to students and/or incidents.Interested candidates
