Position PurposeThe Division of Institutional Diversity and Equity (IDE) at Dartmouth seeks an experienced and highly driven Events and Communications Manager. The Events and Communications Manager will collaborate with IDE leadership to enhance IDE's presence at Dartmouth, increase engagement with staff, faculty, students, alumni, and external partners, and position Dartmouth and IDE as leaders in diversity, equity, and inclusion. The position will be responsible for the design and logistics of multiple complex marquee IDE events such as the Martin Luther King Jr. Keynote Lecture and Social Justice Awards. The Events and Communications Manager will also develop core communications materials to promote events and coordinate the implementation of an IDE communications strategy that includes compelling content. This role requires a creative and passionate individual who supports IDE's mission for a diverse and inclusive community.

Required Qualifications

Bachelors or equivalent combination of education and experience.

5-7 years combined experience in event management, communications, public relations, and/or marketing.

Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills.

Proficiency in writing and editing complex content based on target audience.

Experience with event and communications technologies like Eventbrite, HubSpot, and social media management systems.

Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.

Availability to work some early mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Preferred QualificationsExperience in higher education and/or non-profits organizations.

Key AccountabilitiesEvents Management (60%)

Responsible for all aspects of event planning and execution.

Develops and maintains a comprehensive events calendar.

Creates and distributes background materials for events.

Works with IDE leadership to develop guest and speaker lists.

Manages all event-related vendor and maintenance contracts.

Communications (30%)

Develops and implements comprehensive communications and event marketing plans.

Creates digital and print content that effectively shares IDE impact stories.

Acts as primary copy editor for IDE communications.

Collaborations (10%)

Supports IDE co-sponsored events and programs hosted by campus partners.

Coordinates the campus-wide MLK lecture series.

Demonstrates a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and cultural awareness through actions, interactions, and communications with others.

Performs other duties as assigned.
