Harris for President is looking for a Communications Associate to work on the campaign's Black media portfolio. The Communications Associate will be an important part of the coalitions press team and be responsible for drafting and sending press materials, maintaining press lists, and supporting the Director of Black Media in driving national print, broadcast, and radio coverage to reach and mobilize Black voters.Key Responsibilities

Draft press materials including statements, press releases, advisories and talking points.Draft briefing memos, presentations and other internal-facing documents.Send press releases for the assigned team.Create and maintain press and stakeholder lists.Help manage the flow of communications material internally to key stakeholders and externally to surrogates, allies and press.Collaborate with communications team senior staff and other team members on additional projects, as needed.Assist in hiring, supervising, and managing communications department interns.Preferred Skills & Qualifications

Understanding and experience working with diverse Black communitiesStrong written and verbal communications skillsPrior experience on a political campaign is preferred.Prior experience with Black media outlets and organizationsFamiliarity in Harris for President policy and legislative agendaAbility to work quickly and effectively under pressure especially during breaking newsStrong follow through of internal and external processes to meet deadlinesAbility to handle projects with the appropriate level of discretion and confidentiality.A team player that recognizes the importance of working collaboratively.$60,000 - $65,000 a year
