Role Overview:

As a Mechanical Designer you will assist in the daily operations of Storyteller's Design and Engineering team. You will take full ownership of design challenges and see them through to resolution as they are your own, while being a superior brand ambassador of our reputation within our vibrant community of vanlifers, adventure seekers, and outdoor enthusiasts.

General Responsibilities:

Create and modify SolidWorks part, drawing, and assembly files,Work with design and engineering teams to model various vehicle components, prototypes, and production support equipment,Create manufacturing and inspection (QC) prints for new and existing parts,Organize file and folder structure through model year changes, revisions, and updates,Track and manage revisions for various supplier and vendor parts,Enter part, assembly, and drawing data for vehicle BOM,Reverse engineer supplier parts when CAD data is needed,Assist with R&D vehicle assembly as needed,Contribute to the overall success of the design and engineering team by co-elevating with all team members through collaboration, cooperation, and camaraderie,All other duties as assigned.Work Location:

In Office @ 109 West Park Drive, Birmingham, AL 35211Work Schedule:

Flexible: Typically Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.Qualifications/Skills:

SolidWorks Design ExperienceGeneral understanding of drafting standardsComfortable with Solidworks Weldments and Sheet Metal functionsFamiliar with sheet metal manufacturing "best practices"MS Office or G Suite familiarityAptitude for learning new things quickly, High level of attention to detail, and good problem solverStrong data entry practices, communication skills, and active listener skillsExhibit patience while being a Juggler of many tasks simultaneously wellEducation and Experience:

2+ years of SolidWorks Modeling including sheet metal and weldments2+ years of SolidWorks Drafting experienceFamiliarity with MS Office and G SuitePrior experience working in or around manufacturingProven track record of working in a fast-paced, high-stress position that requires high levels of attention to detailAssociates degree in Drafting or a Drafting Certificate preferredSolidWorks Certifications preferred (CSWE, CSWP, CSWA)
