Our Financial Services client located in Chicago is seeking a talented and experienced

User Experience Designer

with 5+ years of experience to help them build the next generation of trading and markets front ends. You will be responsible for designing and implementing interfaces that are both visually appealing and highly functional, catering to the specific needs of their sophisticated trader clientele.

What you'll do:

You will craft experiences from concept through digital product creation, owning interface and interaction design activities: workshops, creative brainstorming, complex problem solving, user flow development, UI and interaction design - leading to the creation of compelling and thoughtful user experiences.

You have expertise in UI design and are fluent in the use of best practices and standards, and have a knack for designing products that are feature-rich, with high information density. You are an influencer and a negotiator with excellent written and verbal communication skills and have the ability to focus on the most valuable initiative by partnering with product management. You're comfortable working with team members across geographic boundaries and across functions (Design, Engineering, QA, Product, Customers, Leadership).

The team is a partnership of Design and Engineering, with teams encompassing experienced designers, engineers, product owners, researchers and architects - with a shared mission to deliver customer value with every project they work on.

The focus is on the future of trading experience, using design thinking to ideate, iterate, implement and deliver the very best in class web-based platform for both existing customers, and those new to trading.

Responsibilities:Collaborates with developers, product managers, designers & researchersWorks closely with the development team to ensure that designs are implemented effectively and meet technical specificationsWorks with product managers, designers and researchers to translate requirements into engaging and appealing user experiences, ensuring alignment with enterprise design patterns and guidelinesFollows a human-centered approach by leveraging qualitative and quantitative research and metrics to affect key decisions and enhance the user experience: competitive analysis, customer feedback, site analytics, and user research findingsCreates extremely detailed user flows, journey mapping, wireframes, etc. based on requirements from stakeholders, and communicates UX clearly to relevant teamsCaptures all states, edge-cases, "unhappy paths" and path logic for visual UI design and development teams to build outThey should be comfortable with an agile approach to design, with an emphasis on user testing and rapid iterationActively contributes to design system growth based on use casesChampions the customer experience and promotes usability best practicesQualifications & Skills:

Undergraduate qualification - User Experience Design, Interaction Design, Multimedia, HCI, Communications or equivalent degree preferredOnline portfolio or work samples demonstrating a variety of user-centered design solutions - with proven experience of delivering high-quality design across large-scale, data-driven digital experiences.Experience in designing Trading or Banking front ends and data-intensive screensProficiency in a variety of prototyping and design tools e.g. Figma, Sketch, Adobe suite5+ years of UX experience in user-centered design methods and techniques to create viable solutions across screen sizes and devicesDevelopment and implementation of design systems, brand guidelines and standardsFluency in best practices for user experience design, and strong understanding of usability principles and techniquesStrong conceptual thinking with an ability to understand user needs, motivations and behaviors and translate them into actionable deliverablesPreferred Skills:

Financial/Futures industry experience is a plusExperience in working across geographic boundaries

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $46.00 to $51.00 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
