Position Overview

Autodesk is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Manager, Executive Communications for the Autodesk Entertainment & Media Solutions (EMS) business in direct support of the Executive Vice President (EVP) and the EVP’s leadership team. This critical role will collaborate with the EMS external Communications lead and report to the Senior Director, Communications within the Technology, Industry and Platform group.

You will be responsible for executing high-impact communications and providing strategic communication counsel to senior executives that amplify our strategy, directly support business priorities, positively impact employee engagement, and elevate our culture. From storytelling, to crafting Board and Investor level strategic presentations, to building communications plans for M&A integrations, to creating employee-facing communications and campaigns, you will be a key partner to leaders and teams across the business and company.

Additionally in this role, you will collaborate with external communications to ensure consistency across stories to media and industry analysts through compelling narratives, speeches, presentations and written communications.

You will work within the technology and industry communications team and use company-wide relationships to ensure that our approach to communications is consistent, mission-driven, and uniquely Autodesk. You have experience working within technology groups and within the media and entertainment industry.

You will work remote or hybrid in this role.

Responsibilities

Proactively develop and execute a high-impact internal communications strategy and plan for our EVP and EMS organization that drives a greater understanding of our business strategy and communicates our most critical business priorities

Build an organized and efficient communications approach that ensures all known communications activities are always planned and completed with plenty of advanced notice to allow for thoughtful iterations and feedback along the way

Own the strategy and approach for all internal communications events and activities (All Hands meetings, town halls, Q&A sessions, speeches, written communications, digital channels, etc.) with a clear understanding of how to increase employee engagement and amplify the Autodesk culture

Collaborate on comprehensive executive communications strategy for Autodesk's EVP & GM, Media & Entertainment, in collaboration with other teams including public relations, social media, and employee communications

Work directly with EVP, her leadership team, and key subject matter experts to build relevant presentations, communications and messaging for customers

Manage and build all of the EVP’s critical keynote presentations inclusive of the EVP’s annual Autodesk University keynote (our annual Design & Make conference where customers and industry experts come together to build closer relationships and learn from each other)

Independently lead and own the development of EVP’s strategy presentations to the Autodesk Board of Directors and Investor Day that clearly articulates our long-term strategic and financial plans

Proactively develop and build internal communication plans for all M&A integration activity for the EMS organization that directly contribute to the short-term and long-term success of all acquisitions; Ensure communications plan is in alignment with the operational plans in partnership with the Chief of Staff and People Team

Deeply embed in the organization and participate in meetings with the EVP and EVP’s leadership team to help communicate strategy, provide a point of view on what and how things should be communicated, and influence senior leadership

Partner with Autodesk Government Affairs & Public Policy, Corporate Communications and Investor Relations to build messaging and surface compelling narratives for incoming inquiries

Partner with Chief of Staff and external Communications EMS lead to develop thought leadership narratives and materials, including media pitches, presentations, messaging, and customer examples.

Collaborate on a social media strategy for Autodesk's EVP of Media & Entertainment, by drafting social media posts; suggesting shares and existing content related to Autodesk's business; and propose new ways to engage on LinkedIn, and other platforms.

Work across the Communications team and with partners across the company on communications projects in the best interests of the company and its employees; Pitch in to help teammates out on high-priority executive communications or internal communications projects.

Manage complex, fast-moving and unexpected communications challenges with an ability to look around corners for trends and risks

Minimum Qualifications

10+ years of communications experience at major corporations

Exceptional writer with the skills to distill and synthesize complex, strategic discussions and multiple points of view into simple, easy to understand presentations and messages; ability to write with speed, accuracy, and authenticity

Ability to quickly learn Autodesk’s business and industries; experience in film, TV and games technology is a requirement

Ability to influence across functions, geographies and levels, and the ability to work with various departments and teams to drive alignment and collaboration

Exceptional PowerPoint skills and experience using internal communications platforms such as Slack, Zoom, Outlook, and SharePoint; knowledge of Photoshop a plus

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $137,000 and $221,650. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
