We’re looking for a customer-obsessed Senior Product Marketing Manager to join our team of collaborative marketing members who are proficient, work in a team enviroment, take ownership, and embrace a growth mindset. In this role you will be responsible for marketing Microsoft Purview Information Protection. Your primary objectives are to increase awareness, help drive sales, deployment, and usage of the solution, while always keeping an eye on our competition.

This role requires proven storytelling expertise, strategic thinking, business acumen, and a passion for our customers.

Responsibilities

To reach our goals in this market, you are focused on the customer and business outcomes and have experience in building partnerships with engineering teams to influence the product roadmap. You can look end-to-end across the business from marketing campaigns to readiness to product strategy to partner to field to competitor to help improve product, deliver offers, land scale through partners and field, and deliver digital marketing.

Responsibilities include:

Influencing engineering on product roadmap to deliver innovation, ensure competitiveness in the market, and meet customer needs

Collaborating with business planning on business model decisions and then bringing those to market

Narrative integration into the broader data security campaign strategy

Finding opportunities to build integration with the broader Microsoft Security suite of solutions

Influencing field and partner marketing for readiness

Owning and delivering the value proposition of the product in messaging and in content

Owning the web-site presence for Microsoft Purview Information Protection

Deeply understanding competitors and building strategies to address them

Listening to field input from sellers to influence your marketing motions

Identifying opportunities to grow the overall Microsoft Purview Information Protection business

Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications

Master's Degree in in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 3+ years experience in product marketing, or product management or technology evangelism

OR Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 5+ years experience in product marketing, or product management or technology evangelism

OR equivalent experience.

Additional or preferred qualifications

Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 6+ years experience in product marketing, or product management or technology evangelism

OR Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 8+ years experience in product marketing, or product management or technology evangelism

OR equivalent experience.

Demonstrated ability to create narratives targeted to different segments, delivering clear outcomes and a call to action.

Proactively and quickly learn new and emerging technologies and ability to explain key end-user scenarios and technical architectures to technical audiences.

Curiosity to understand the nuances of the solution, identify key competitive differentiators and be able to simplify the messaging for the customers, partners, and sales teams.

Creative problem solver. Strategic thinker who is curious, resilient, goal oriented with a bias for action, and can look at the big picture to connect dots.

Understanding customer needs and delivering ‘product truths’ that differentiate products in a rapidly changing landscape.

Thrive in a dynamic, often ambiguous environment.

Collaboration skills and the ability to work in a highly matrixed organization across engineering, sales, and marketing.

Analytical skills and a demonstrated ability to use data to build and present business cases to key stakeholders.

Product Marketing IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $103,800 - $200,300 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $133,700 - $219,200 per year.
