W. W. Norton & Company is seeking a full-time Product Operations Assistant. Candidates should have a high level of curiosity and eagerness to learn more about digital products and operations while handling general administrative tasks. The Digital Product Operations Assistant will work directly with the Director of Product Operations to ensure that Norton’s websites and digital products deliver Norton’s hallmark, high-quality experience. The digital operations team is at the nexus of digital product, publishing, customer support, and technology teams. This role offers a unique opportunity to learn about digital publishing and gain experience through working with stakeholders across departments.

Essential Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist with all stages of the product ecommerce set-up process from launch to go-live.
  • Closely collaborate with editorial, sales, marketing, support, and technology teams to confirm product goals and identify ways to achieve these goals through organized coordination.
  • Create and implement effective tracking systems to ensure on-time delivery of products.
  • Maintain cross-department calendars to facilitate clear communication regarding schedule dependencies and key milestones.
  • Manage the prelaunch meeting preparation and follow up, as well as represent the digital operations team in prelaunch meetings.
  • Maintain Smartsheet and Excel tracking documents for various department and cross-department initiatives.
  • Schedule, assist in agenda creation, attend, and prepare notes and summaries for key meetings to facilitate productive collaboration.
  • Provide general administrative support to the Director of Product Operations for annual department activities.
  • Research and create documentation to share best practices and instructions for audiences across Norton.
  • Collaborate with digital operations and product team members to design and maintain information hubs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Previous experience in publishing or digital media preferred but not required.
  • Proactivity, flexibility, and adaptability in a rapidly changing environment; must be able to anticipate needs, investigate issues, and deliver timely information and proposals for solutions.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to prioritize, multi-task, and follow up effectively across departments, activities, and projects.
  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring that all aspects of daily activities are handled with appropriate levels of urgency and care.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to interact with confidence, warmth, and respect with customers and employees at all levels.
  • Demonstrated interest in learning new digital applications and systems.
  • Proficiency with Outlook, Word, and Excel required, familiarity with Sharepoint and Smartsheet preferred.
  • Knowledge of virtual meeting software (e.g. Zoom and Microsoft Teams) a plus
  • Must be able to work full Eastern Time business hours
  • Availability to travel to New York and Scranton offices for meetings a few times per year as needed.
  • Employment eligibility to work with W.W. Norton & Company in the US is required
  • Ability to work independently and contribute as part of a highly collaborative team.

Compensation and Benefits*

Currently available benefits include:

  • Annual compensation for this position is $45,000. All salaries and salary ranges posted by Norton may vary depending on experience, skills, location, and like considerations.
