What you must have:3+ years in Women's RTW and luxury design experience, especially in eveningwear.Experience in Technical Design is a must.Strong eye for design and ability to communicate concepts and ideas through clear and understandable illustrations, draping, etc.Creative eye and a passion for all things artistic and creative; with the high ability to cull research that is season and brand appropriate.Strong knowledge of fabrics and materials, garment construction especially in eveningwear, silhouettes and trims.Ability to be proactive in research compilation, with a high level of standards for information pulled and disciplined, to edit down to what is most essential/appropriate for the season's direction.Capacity to adapt and adjust to ever-changing demands of the fashion landscape.High level of computer software proficiency especially Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint.Strong communication skills, especially when relaying ideas with pattern makers and sample hands in atelier.Strong ability to communicate with overseas partners and vendors, with strong follow up skills.Effective management skills, ability to delegate workload and maintain timelines.High ability to prepare and present presentations in an organized fashion, illustrating points clearly (visually).Strong organizational skills, with ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle tight deadlines, and prioritize workload as needed.Ability to collaborate effectively and work well with others.What you will be doing:Work directly with Design Director in supporting the development of seasonal products with a focus on style, aesthetic, fit and fabric that elevates and emphasizes the brand initiative.Partner with production and Fabric R&D to design merchandise that fits within the costing parameters and target customer.Build and maintain seasonal concept, color and mood boards that adheres to Design Director's inspiration.Prepare creative concepts based on the season's inspirations.Illustrate and render well-thought out designs with clear understanding of the Director's vision: both stylized sketches and technical flats.Partner with team in the development of print and embroideries across all collections - driving newness and fresh perspectives.Proactively research seasonal trim ideas, new techniques and fabrications, and collaborae with Product Development team for season execution.Collaborate with all cross-functional teams in ensuring products are executed with the intended vision through and through, and on time.Participate in seasonal fittings, merchandising meetings, photoshoots and presentations.TECHNICAL:Product Lifecycle Management: Manage product lifecycle from sketch through showroom sample completion.Collaborate with Design and Production creating cost effective stylesTechnical Specification: Generate computerized technical specification packages; Review and evaluate samples for spec, pattern, shape, and construction.Systems: Use PLM, File Maker (we will teach) and photoshop.Communication: Communicate with overseas offices and vendors to identify and resolve issues with garment construction.
