Founded, January 25, 1971. We started in the downtown Los Angeles fashion scene, with all operations in one small building. Gradually, Topson expanded into manufacturing worldwide. In the late seventies, Topson Downs expanded into Mexico. As a pioneer in outsourced shipping, Topson started a trend that has become mainstream I the garment industry.In 1998, we expanded into China and eventually opened a China design room. Starting with junior apparel, we've expanded our product line to include all categories of women's, men's and kid's apparel. Topson Downs has been ahead of the curve and began focusing on accommodating the mass-market retailers and specialty stores. Through building relationships, Topson Downs has become a reliable supplier for quick response manufacturing.SummaryThe Development Technical Designer role is at the forefront of the design/development process. The position requires expansive garment construction knowledge and proficiency in vector sketching in Illustrator. This is a fast-paced environment which requires the ability to stay on calendar. Previous experience communicating with factories is a must and previous PLM experience is a plus.Essential Function sReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions.-Create detailed tech packs-Garment sketching-Translate design concepts by creating technical packages regarding garment specifications-Make appropriate recommendations in collaboration with design teams on matters pertaining to specs, pattern, construction methods, and techniques to improve fit, balance, and overall quality of the garment.-Communicate with overseas factories.-Understanding of time and action calendars and able to meet deadlines-Must be able to work cross functional with all Topson Downs fitsContributions
