Job Summary

The assistant vice president (AVP), marketing is responsible for directing and overseeing operations within the University marketing function. The AVP, marketing collaborates with other departments, such as Enrollment Management, to promote the University and monitors the success of the University's marketing efforts.

Job Responsibilities and Execution

Supervises the Marketing team's efforts, including brand strategy and management; digital/print/audio advertising; web strategy; video production and strategy; licensing/trademark management; creative project management; and marketing data analytics in collaboration with Strategic Enrollment ManagementBuilds a shared vision for University marketing through inspirational leadership and exceptional management skills; guides the team's decision-making processesCollaborates with Enrollment Management to implement marketing plans that promote the University, enhance student interest, and result in lead generationRecognizes industry and competitive trends; identifies and targets specific, new, or underserved marketsOversees production of print and online ads; collaborates with Communications on special events, promotions, and media outreach; directs all aspects of publications, including graphic design, website communications, and digital marketing strategiesResearches, negotiates, and purchases strategic media buys to increase enrollment, champion academic quality, and enhance national prominence of the UniversityDevelops, manages, and communicates complex annual marketing budget, integrating budget decisions with strategic planning and institutional efficiencyEncourages an innovative environment that promotes teamwork, collaboration, trust, and accountabilityFosters diverse ideas, autonomy of work, and excellence in attention to detail/accuracyImplements a data-driven, decision-making culture to guide University marketing effortsSupports executive leadership with research, writing, editing, and dissemination of communiqués and marketing initiatives, including presentations, talking points, speeches, event briefings, and other communicationsLeadership and Strategic Thinking

Required Qualifications

- An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered. Additional requirements may be designated by position.

Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, business, management, marketing, or related fieldMinimum of 7 years' experience in marketing strategy and executionMaster's degree preferredKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities
