JCC Chicago is now hiring a dynamic and engaging Early Childhood Music Specialist (PT) to join our team of educators and specialists who make a difference in the lives of our children! The Music Specialist will actively engage young children in stimulating music and movement activities in a preschool environment. As part of a dynamic team of educators and specialists, Music Specialists attend monthly training sessions that introduce and expand upon an existing portfolio of developmentally appropriate Jewish songs.

Key Essential Job Duties/Physical Duties:
Must be able to lift and move with children (up to 40 lbs).Must demonstrate physical stamina and agility including the ability to be mobile for long periods throughout the day.Demonstrated ability to move from sitting (on chair or floor) to standing position easily and quickly.Must be able to stand for long periods of time and be able to run and be actively engaged physically with children.Must be able to respond to emergency situations, moving from sitting to standing to running quickly and effectively.Must be able to supervise children by sight and sound.
Days/Hours:
Six hours per week, in the mornings; times may vary.
Requirements:
Strong skills on guitar, keyboard, or other instrument with knowledge of developmentally appropriate music for preschool children required.Candidates must be comfortable singing and playing an instrument in both small and large groups.Experience and comfort working with 2 - 5 year olds required.
