Summary
The Junior Designer will have had the educational background/knowledge to take on the role of the Industrial Designer. To adequately learn and be responsible for gathering of drawings and specifications, calculating material and equipment requirements, program machines and set up production methods for fabrication operations. The Junior Designer will work closely with the Fabrication department to bring concepts to life, ensuring that they meet both aesthetic and functional requirements.
Areas of responsibilities may include but are not limited to:Draft detailed technical drawings for shop productionEnsure final designs comply with regulations and quality standardsIdentify potential operational issues and redesign products to improve functionalityDocument production methods, including equipment and software types to be usedCreate instructions for machine operators and manuals that describe existing products’ operation, features, and maintenanceCommunicating with administration on job progressEducation, Skills, Experience, and Knowledge
Associated degree and professional certifications are preferred, but not required.Experience with insulation fabrication is a plus, but not requiredAble to read and interpret drawings / blueprints, and follow work instructionsCapable of accurately using and reading precise measuring equipment as requiredProficient math, computer, teamwork, and problem-solving skillsCapable of meeting deadlines and multitasking in a fast-paced environmentWork Environment
Office operations and warehouse/fabrication environment
Physical demands may include but are not limited to:
High level of sitting, walking, standing, and/or climbingStooping, bending, kneeling, and reachingWork outside/inside around machinery with moving parts and vehiclesExposure to all seasons of weather, as well as slippery and uneven surfaces
Travel
Daily travel to multiple on-site locations.
