Job Summary Position is responsible for performing EMG studies and other neurodiagnostic examinations according to physicians orders under the supervision of the department manager. Job Description Shift details: Mon-Fri Half days between 8-4:30 pm Weekends and Holidays off Performing EMG studies for inpatients and outpatients EMG experience Preferred Minimum Qualifications Education: Associates degree, preferred Licenses/Certifications: Basic Life Support certification Experience / Knowledge / Skills: Minimum of two (2) years directly related experience or an Associate's degree in Neurodiagnostic Technologies; in lieu of two (2) years' experience. Principal Accountabilities Receives and records physicians orders for patient testing: schedules patients, obtains patient medical history and completes appropriate documentation. Prepares patients for procedures explains procedure, measures for accurate electrode sites, applies electrodes and adjusts as appropriate. Performs electroencephalograph (EEG) exams, may perform other neurodiagnostic exams as directed. Maintains equipment and makes minor adjustments as indicated. Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity, and quality of service. Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education, skills competency, supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.
