Job Summary

The Associate Director of Marketing Strategy, serves as a key member of the UCSF Health marketing leadership team, serving as the lead marketing strategist for UCSF Health's adult clinical enterprise. The successful candidate has extensive experience in developing and implementing strategic marketing plans, has a passion for data and performance metrics, enjoys coaching and developing a team, excels at building relationships with cross-functional colleagues and clinical and operational leaders, and serves as a trusted marketing advisor.

This is a remote position; however, we have a strong preference for candidates who reside in California.

What you will do:

Lead a team of strategic marketers responsible for supporting the business and brand goals for UCSF Health's adult service lines and facilitiesFoster trusted relationships with business unit and service line leadersManage a portfolio of strategic service lines to drive volume and reputation with a high level of expertiseDevelop strategic marketing plans, differentiated messaging, and impactful strategy / creative briefs that demonstrate business and brand acumenLead initiatives with marketing department peers to deliver on business goals and build efficienciesApply experience developing and implementing precision marketing campaigns using CRMWork with leaders to define key performance indicators and drive team performance to meet and exceed performance targetsCollaborate with operational and strategy leads to ensure alignment of marketing assignments to organizational prioritiesApply expertise in brand and service line market intelligence, customer segmentation, and market researchFlourish in a matrixed team environment, collaborating with colleagues in strategic planning, public relations, digital marketing and physician outreach to ensure integrated and coordinated marketing effortsThe final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $105,900 - $225,900 (Annual Rate). Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, health administration or related field or four years of equivalent experience.Twelve (12) years of experience in marketing or communications positions, including experience with digital marketing strategies.Five (5) years of experience in developing, tracking and reporting on key performance indicators.Strong skills in strategic planning, effectively organizing resources, setting and establishing priorities, and supporting team development.Experience working in the Healthcare industry.Strong interpersonal communication, political acumen, and advanced skills to represent the department and health system with other institutional and/or external constituencies.Skilled presenter with the ability to develop and present succinct, impactful, creative presentations that convey service line and marketing mastery.Excellent market research, analytical, problem recognition, avoidance, and resolution skills.Strong skills to produce results and achieve predetermined goals within budget and time constraints.Strong knowledge of current and emerging industry requirements and best practices in areas of marketing.Strong skills in strategic planning to effectively organize resources, establish priorities, and achieve desired results.Strong skill in managing staff including selection, training, evaluating and mentoring staff at all organizational levels; skill in taking corrective action with staff as required.Strong interpersonal communication and political acumen to effectively work with internal customers and external constituencies.Strong market research, analytical, and problem recognition/avoidance/resolution skills.Strong skills to produce results and achieve predetermined goals within budget and time constraints.Strong knowledge of applicable University policies and state and federal laws regarding copyright and other licensing issues.Preferred Qualifications

Concentration/specialization in marketing analytics, digital marketing, and CRMFive years of management experience, including selection, training, evaluating, and mentoring staffAgency experienceMaster's degree in business administration, marketing, health administration or related field
