T-Minus Zero is seeking a highly motivated Senior Gameplay Animator to join our team as a key contributor in the creation of our brand-new AAA game & IP. You will work closely with the Lead Animator and other members of the art, design, and engineering teams to author animations and the systems that drive characters and creatures. The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of body mechanics, animation pipelines, and a solid technical knowledge of the Unreal Engine animation pipeline including animation blueprints.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create character and environmental animations with a deep understanding of body mechanics and contribute to establishing the style and quality bar with the Lead Animator.
  • Oversee and implement gameplay animations into Unreal Engine. This includes owning the creation and maintenance of animation blueprints, state machines, sequencer, and other blueprints as well as troubleshooting technical challenges.
  • Work closely with the design team to implement gameplay mechanics and creature behaviors.
  • Provide feedback and requests on improving animation rigs and tools.
  • Mentor animators and promote the sharing of knowledge.


Basic Qualifications:
  • 6+ years of experience in animation in the games industry.
  • Strong knowledge of body mechanics and animation principles.
  • Experience with animation software such as Maya or Blender.
  • Expert-level proficiency with the Unreal Engine animation pipeline.
  • Proven ability to animate a variety of styles.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively articulate visual concepts.
  • Healthy approach to problem solving and collaboration.
  • Giving and receiving constructive feedback that reinforces our team goals.
  • Passion for growing in your craft and sharing knowledge


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a full-cycle development process in a shipped title.
  • Experience working with motion capture data.
  • A deep passion for gaming and a solid understanding of the industry, trends, and styles.


Compensation Range: The expected annual base pay ranges reflected in this job description are applicable to individuals residing in or working within a designated location. Any final compensation offer will depend on various factors. As part of an overall package, NetEase employees can take advantage of NetEase's comprehensive benefits and discretionary incentive plans, provided that they comply with the policies and guidelines governing those programs. This role has a base salary range of $83,000 - $163,000 USD if the hire will be based in the US.
