Job Description:Broadcom's Core Switching Group (CSG) is looking for a Sr HW Design Manager to lead a team of HW designers enabling state of the art reference and validation systems with Broadcom highly integrated network switches for internal needs and for the customers. The critical and highly visible role encompasses working with cross functional teams to drive system architecture, driving the team to the excellence of continuing to enable the market with many first in class system architectures. Come and join Broadcom's dynamic, exciting and innovative team to drive solutions for Broadcom, Broadcom customers and industry as a whole.ResponsibilitiesDrive system architecture with feasibility studies.Drive state of the art component and PCB solution advancements industry wide (connectors, PCB material, PCB construction and geometries, etc).Manage relationships with key component and technology vendors, and customers.Drive PCB fab/assembly enablement path for next generation designs.Work closely with customers to understand the architectural constraints.Consolidate design updates/challenges, know how, lessons learned, leveraged circuits.Drive internal design processes including checklists, reviews for specifications, schematics and layout.Provide consultation to the Application Engineering team with customer escalations.Own system design documentation for internal teams and for customers.Maintain team’s HW technical and logistical program schedule against execution metric.Drive team’s existing talent retainment and future need recruitment through resource management and incentive programs.RequirementsHands-on experience with high speed design, high power designs and complex system integration.Working knowledge of schematics capture tools (Mentor DxDesigner, and Cadence Allegro).Working knowledge of lab measurement tools (Scopes, Spectrum Analyzer, VNA, etc).Working knowledge of SI and PI simulation workflow, expected statement of work and expected result metrics.Working experience with BOM Management at System Level.Significant experience with design and design verification process automation, checklist management.Experience with performing measurements in the lab with various test equipment including (Oscilloscope, Signal Analyzers, VNA, TDR, etc).Vast knowledge of test measurement instruments and measurements.Working experience with program and project management.Additional Qualifications:Minimum of 12 years of overall experience of which a minimum of 3 years is in management.3+ years of experience in management of HW designers working on high complexity HW systems.Strong System Architecture, Signal and Power integrity knowledge.Optical I/O and AI/ML systems interconnectivity knowledge.Compensation and Benefits:The annual base salary range for this position is $141,000- $225,000. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
